Kuehnert's Auction Gallery provides a simple and easy process for buying at auction.  We are happy to assist both new and experienced buyers.  Our auctions are free and open to the public.  You are under no obligation to bid.

Making a purchase at auction is simple.  Our friendly and experienced staff is always available to answer any questions that you may have.  We can assist with all aspects of your purchase from the actual bidding to coordinating delivery.

Public Gallery Preview

The best way to obtain information about specific lots available at the auction is to view the items in person.  Open six days a week, we strongly encourage all prospective bidders to preview the auction in person on the Wednesday or Thursday prior to the weekly auction.

Condition

Kuehnert's wants all of its clientele to be fully satisfied with purchases made at the gallery.  We will be happy to assist you in obtaining as much information as possible regarding the condition of a particular lot prior to bidding.  Because all lots are sold "where is, as is", and condition is a subjective issue, we strongly encourage you to preview the items in person prior to bidding.

Bidding at the Auction

There are several ways by which you may place a bid at auction.  Before bidding it is imperative that you read and understand our Terms and Conditions of sale.

Should you desire to bid at the auction you must first register in order to receive a bidder's card.  To complete your registration we must be provided with your full contact information.  It is understood that by registering to bid you have agreed to our terms and conditions of sale.  All items are sold "where is, as is".  All sales are final.

We encourage those not familiar with the auction process to attend an auction or two in order to familiarize themselves with the auction process.  You are under no obligation to bid at any time.

  1. Bidding in person - Once the auction has begun the auctioneer will announce the lot number of each item as it is presented for sale. The auctioneer will then begin accepting bids on that lot.  To place a bid, simply raise your bidder card.  The auctioneer will continue to raise the bid until only one bidder remains.  The last remaining bidder will purchase the lot.
  2. Absentee bidding - Please call (713) 827-7835 to place an absentee bid.  The bid amount you leave will be interpreted as the maximum amount you are willing to bid on the lot before buyer's premium and sales taxes.  All absentee bids are executed at the lowest possible bid increment with respect to the floor bids.  All absentee bids are confidential. Kuehnert's will not be liable for the failure to execute any bid for any reason.
  3. Internet bidding - On occasion real-time internet bidding may be made available on specific lots during the auction.  Terms and conditions for online bidding will be made available online at that time.

Buyer's Premium and Sales Tax

A buyer's premium of 15% will be charged on each lot sold, (internet purchases are subject to 20%).

When applicable, 8.25% Texas state sales tax will be assessed on the final hammer price and buyer's premium.  Sales tax will not be assessed on lots shipped out-of-state by a licensed shipper, or on lots purchased by tax exempt individuals or businesses with a copy of a valid tax exemption certificate on file with Kuehnert's Auction Gallery.

Forms of Payment

We accept cash, checks, (with proper identification), and all major credit cards.  We reserve the right not to release any property until all necessary funds have cleared.

Removal of Property

Following the auction, buyers are required to remove all purchased property from the premises.  Kuehnert's will not be held responsible for any items not removed.  We are open for pick up Monday through Friday from 9-6, and on Saturday from 9-2.  For your convenience Kuehnert's can provide you with a list of third-party shippers that can assist you with delivery.
